Bowling Green, Ohio - The Bowling Green State University football team held an 80-minute scrimmage on Sunday evening in front of more than 500 fans at the BGSU football practice fields. "We are still evaluating people and trying to get the offense in sync," said Falcon Coach Gregg Brandon. "The #1 defense dominated the scrimmage pretty much. The #1 offense had a nice drive to open the scrimmage and I thought they did a good job in the red zone." During the opening drive, two Omar Jacobs' passes to James Hawkins (totaling 45 yards) set up an eight-yard scoring run by P.J. Pope. "It's pretty much what you would have hoped for," added Brandon. "The first offense came out and moved the ball and the first defense did their job every time out there." Highlights The defense forced two safeties, one by junior linebacker Teddy Piepkow and another on an offensive penalty in the end zone. Reshirt freshman Deaudre Perry had an interception. Sophomore Jon Jakubowski had a fumble recovery. Sophomore Kenneth Brantley caught four passes for a team-high 66 yards. Freshman Anthony Turner threw a one-yard TD pass to senior Todd DiBacco. During two red-zone opportunities, Jacobs tossed TD passes of 20 and 25 yards to junior Charles Sharon.
