Falcons vs. Broncos
BGSU leads the all-time series, 67-45-4, dating back to February, 1974. BGSU won four meetings between 1969-71 when the Broncos were a club sport. WMU, which has met BGSU more times than any other opponent, is 7-2-1 in the last 10 meetings against the Falcons. Nine of the last 10 meetings have been decided by two goals or less and four have gone to overtime, in which WMU has won three of those extra-session contests.
No, Not THAT Sports Illustrated Issue
When several Falcon fans found out that SR Jordan Sigalet spoke with Sports Illustrated for a story to appear in this week's issue, two words came to mind - Swimsuit Issue! After doing some extensive research, it was found that SI produces a double issue this week, one dedicated to sun, surf, and sand and the other to sports. Sigalet will appear in the SECOND issue this week, talking to the famous sports magazine about being diagnosed with multiple sclerosis in March of 2004 and still being one of the top goalies in the nation. The issue is scheduled to hit newsstands this Thursday, Feb. 17.
Nesdill Joins the Point Club
FR Mike Nesdill, playing in just his fourth collegiate contest, tallied his first career point with an assist on Feb. 12 at #7 Ohio State. Nesdill missed the first three-and-one-half months of the season due to shoulder surgery, then was sidelined with mononucleosis the past two weeks.
Sigalet Moves Into Third Place on Career Saves List
SR Jordan Sigalet passed Wally Charko (1977-81) for third place on BGSU's all-time saves list on Feb. 11 with his 33 saves at #7 Ohio State. Sigalet finished with 68 saves on the weekend and now has 2,957 saves in 95 career games (31.1 saves per game). Tyler Masters (1999-03) is second with 3,286 saves in 114 games (28.82 spg.) and Gary Kruzich (1983-87) is first with 3,580 saves in 132 games (27.12 spg.).
Pilkington "Assisting" the Cause for BGSU
JR Brett Pilkington is fourth in the nation and tops in the CCHA with an 0.91 assists-per-game average. The forward has a team-high 21 assists in 23 games, including eight helpers in his last six games. He has surpassed his career totals from a year ago in assists (11) and points (21).
