The women's swimming and diving team will be traveling to Athens, Ohio for the MAC Swimming and Diving Championships. Ohio University will serve as hosts for the 2005 Mid-American Conference Women's Swimming & Diving Championships, February 24-26 at the Ohio Aquatics Center.
Last year, the Falcons recorded their highest finish at the MAC Championships in 11 years by finishing third. The Falcons finished with 405 team points behind Miami and Ohio. The falcons had not finished higher than sixth place in the MAC Championships over the past nine years, while finishing fourth in 1994 and second in 1993.
Another highlight was senior Sarah Agnew who captured the individual medal in the 200 breaststroke with a time of 2:18.86. Agnew became the first Falcon to win a MAC Championship since Cheryl Patteson in 1996.
This year, the falcons will look to sophomore Caroline Keating who is leading the Falcons in the freestyle competition posting three first place finishes against Miami as well as Ball State.
The Falcons will also look to Junior Dana Schultz, a strong competitor in the butterfly as well as the Falcon divers Carlyn Cusack and Jill Auer.
Preliminaries will begin on Thursday (Feb. 24) at 11 a.m.
