Burke Badenhop Named MAC West Pitcher of the Week

Bowling Green, Ohio - Bowling Green's Burke Badenhop (Perrysburg, Ohio) has been named this week's Mid-American Conference West Division Pitcher of the Week after pitching a complete-game shutout on Sunday, April 10, vs. Buffalo. Badenhop helped BGSU improve to 20-8 overall and 5-4 in the MAC with the 1-0 victory.
The right-handed pitcher struck out a season-high nine, one off his career-best, and pitched his first ever complete game. He allowed just one runner past second base. With the win, Badenhop improved his record to 6-1 on the season, a personal-best, and gave him the most victories by a Falcon since 2002. Badenhop also pitched two-thirds of an inning in a 7-1 victory over Buffalo on April 8, allowing no runs on two hits.
Badenhop leads the Falcons with eight starts, 43.0 innings pitched, and is tied for the team lead with 34 strikeouts. He has moved into a tie for sixth place all-time at BGSU with 65 career appearances and is tied for eighth place all-time with 14 career victories.
BGSU travels to South Bend, Ind., on Tuesday to take on Notre Dame at 6:05 p.m. EST, then travels to Northern Illinois for a MAC series this weekend, April 15-17.
