BGSU's Burke Badenhop Named MAC West Pitcher of the Week
Bowling Green's Burke Badenhop (Perrysburg, Ohio) has been named this week's Mid-American Conference West Division Pitcher of the Week after pitching a complete-game shutout on Sunday, April 10, vs. Buffalo. Badenhop helped BGSU improve to 20-8 overall and 5-4 in the MAC with the 1-0 victory.
The right-handed pitcher struck out a season-high nine, one off his career-best, and pitched his first ever complete game. He allowed just one runner past second base. With the win, Badenhop improved his record to 6-1 on the season, a personal-best, and gave him the most victories by a Falcon since 2002. Badenhop leads the Falcons with eight starts, 43.0 innings pitched, and is tied for the team lead with 34 strikeouts. He has moved into a tie for sixth place all-time at BGSU with 65 career appearances and is tied for eighth place all-time with 14 career victories.
