Recap | Final Stats
KENT, Ohio - The Falcon women's soccer team picked up a 2-0 win over the University at Buffalo Sunday afternoon (Oct. 15) at the Kent State Soccer Field. A few notes and numbers from the game ...
* The game was the first Mid-American Conference regular-season contest in program history to be played at a neutral site ... Sunday's game, originally scheduled to be played in Buffalo, N.Y., was moved to Kent due to the snowstorm that hit Western New York on Thursday, leaving much of the area without power.
* The Falcons' win over Buffalo moves BGSU into a third-place tie with Kent State (see box below) ... BG, by virtue of Friday's win at KSU, would hold the tiebreaker with the Golden Flashes in the event of a two-team deadlock at the end of the regular season.
* Sophomore Corbie Yee scored both goals vs. Buffalo, and had three goals on the weekend ... Yee is now the Falcons' active career leader in goals, with nine, and points, with 22.
* Yee's two game-winning goals this weekend give her a total of four in her young career ... she is the second Falcon this to have the game-winning goal in both of BGSU's games on a weekend ... junior Danielle Cygan had the GWG in the Falcons' wins over Northern Illinois (Sept. 22) and Western Michigan (Sept. 24).

* Sophomore Christy Zabek had shutouts in both of this weekend's wins ... Zabek, in three career starts, now has three complete-game shutouts ... her other shutout came against Youngstown State (Sept. 8, 2006) at Cochrane Field.
* Zabek entered the weekend with a career total of six saves ... she made seven stops vs. KSU on Friday, and topped that with nine saves in Sunday's win over UB ... she has a total of 22 career saves, including 21 this year.
* Zabek still has not allowed a goal in her collegiate career ... she has played in 11 career games, starting three, and has now played a total of 493:10 without ever having to fish a ball out of the back of the net.
* Sunday's shutout was the Falcons' eighth of the season ... that total is the second-highest in school history ... the record is nine, set by last year's team.
* No fewer than 14 of the Falcons' 16 games this season have been shutouts ... BGSU, as mentioned above, has been on the winning side in eight of those games.
(In a story full of random statistics, the following note is perhaps the most random ... it is the early leader for 'Useless Note of the Day')
* The weekend marked the third this season in which the Falcons have posted a pair of shutouts ... in each of those three weekends, BGSU picked up a 1-0 win on Friday and a 2-0 triumph on Sunday.
* Sophomore Brianne Eisenhard assisted on Yee's first goal Sunday ... Eisenhard now has six career points, all coming in 2006 ... both of her assists have come on game-winning goals ... her first career point was an assist on a goal by junior Danielle Cygan vs. WMU last month.
* Cygan and senior Lindsay Carter each had an assist on Yee's second goal vs. UB ... Cygan now has a team-leading eight points this season and 12 in her career ... she has four assists in 2006 after entering the year with a career total of two.
* Carter now has three assists this season ... she has nine career assists, the most among active Falcons.
* The Falcons now have an all-time record of 7-2-0 in games played at the Kent State Soccer Field ... that record includes a 3-0 mark in neutral-site contests played at the field ... BGSU picked up wins over St. Bonaventure and Bucknell at the Kent Classic in 2000, in Andy Richards' first two games as the BGSU head coach.
* The Falcons are now 1-4-0 in games played on October 15 over the years ... BGSU has scored two goals in four of those five games.
* The Falcons now lead Buffalo, 7-3-1, in the all-time series between the teams ... BGSU has a three-game winning streak over the Bulls, with all three wins coming by shutout.
