The lunch program is expected to run from 12:15 to 1:45 p.m., with the women's basketball one-on-one interviews extending from 2:00 to 4:00 p.m.
Bowling Green State University will be well-represented at the women's basketball media day, as three members of the Falcons will join their coach, Curt Miller, for the event. Seniors Liz Honegger and Ali Mann and junior Kate Achter all were selected to the Preseason All-MAC Team by the MAC News Media Association (MACNMA).
BGSU's scheduled time slot for the live press conference feed is from 3:50 to 4:00 p.m., although that time could be altered slightly depending upon the length of the earlier interviews.
The MAC Basketball Media Preview and Luncheon will be held at the Renaissance Hotel in downtown Cleveland. Cleveland native and CBS national basketball analyst Clark Kellogg, as well as national basketball analyst Debbie Antonelli, will speak at the luncheon as the MAC gears up for another exciting year of college basketball. Fans will be given an inside look at the upcoming basketball season as the MAC will broadcast the media preview and luncheon live as a free preview of the All-MACess package.
The men's basketball portion of the preview will be held Tuesday morning, prior to the luncheon.
Kellogg joined CBS Sports full time in 1997, after having served as a studio and game analyst for ESPN (1990-97). He has worked the last 14 years on CBS Sports' coverage of the NCAA Men's Basketball Championship, first as a game analyst and then as co-host of first- and second-round studio coverage. He has co-hosted the Road to the Final Four, the Final Four and the Championship game since 1997.
A standout basketball player at Ohio State University (1979-82), Kellogg led the Buckeyes in both scoring and rebounding as a sophomore and junior. He earned All-Big Ten and Most Valuable Player honors in 1982, when he averaged 16.1 points and 10.5 rebounds per game. Following his junior year, he entered the NBA Draft and was the No. 1 pick of the Indiana Pacers. He played for five seasons before retiring.
A prominent graduate of Villa-Angela St. Joseph High School in Cleveland, Ohio, Kellogg still holds most of the Viking school records.
Antonelli is one of the top women's basketball analysts in the country. She serves as the lead analyst in the ACC, Big 12, SEC and works on the Big East TV package for CSTV. Antonelli has worked for ESPN, CBS, Fox Sports Net and several other networks.
Working an average of 80 women's basketball games a year, Antonelli also had a WNBA schedule with the Indiana Fever for the fifth consecutive year.
"I am thrilled to be a part of the MAC Media Day in Cleveland," said Antonelli. "The MAC is well known and respected for its quality of coaching and competitiveness. Pre season polls are giving the MAC notoriety and incentive to prove its worth. Cleveland is the host of the 2007 Women's Final Four and the destination for all women's basketball teams. That creates synergy for the MAC."
Antonelli, in her 19th year as a college basketball analyst worked in college athletics prior to her full time broadcasting career. Antonelli spent four years as the Director of Marketing for the University of Kentucky, and four more in a similar capacity at The Ohio State University. She spent five years as the television analyst for the Ohio State women's basketball team and subsequently spent three years as the TV analyst for the Dayton Flyers men's basketball team.
Antonelli also works for CBS Sports on their women's basketball television coverage. Antonelli has called the Women's Final Four for ten consecutive years for CBS/Westwood One Radio.
Antonelli was a three-year starter at guard for North Carolina State where she helped guide the Wolfpack to four NCAA tournament appearances and two Sweet 16 appearances. The Cary, N.C., native graduated with a double major in business management and economics. She went on to earn her master's degree in sports administration from Ohio University in 1988, where she also served as the graduate assistant women's basketball coach under Amy Pritchard.
The MAC Women's Basketball Preseason Poll will be announced on Tuesday, and the results will be available here at BGSUFalcons.com.
In March, all 12 of the MAC's men's and women's teams will return to Cleveland, converging upon Quicken Loans Arena for the FirstEnergy MAC Men's Basketball Tournament and MAC Women's Basketball Tournament.
