FIRST OF TWO AGAINST THE INDIANS
The Bowling Green State University men's basketball team (1-0) will play its lone road game during the first semester when it travels to Jonesboro, Arkansas to take on Arkansas State (0-3), Thursday night. The teams also will meet on December 4 in Bowling Green. This is the first home and home non-conference series for the Falcons since the 1999-2000 season when it also played Arkansas-Little twice.
The Falcons are coming off an 89-52 victory over Denison on Saturday. ASU ventured to Norfolk, Vrginia to play in the Cox Classic. They lost to Clemson, 83-44, host Old Dominion, 69-61, and Monmouth, 69-67 in overtime.
After spending 12 days away from home last year during the first semester, BGSU will spend only two days away from Bowling Green until the semester ends, December 15. BGSU was 1-1 against the Sun Belt last season winning at Troy, 60-52, and falling at UALR, 68-60. BGSU also will play Troy and South Alabama from the Sun Belt this season. ASU was picked to finish fourth in their division this year. Three times, BGSU has won its road opener under Coach Dakich, last year at Virginia Tech, 2001-02 at Duquesne, and 1999-2000 at Hawaii.
BGSU and ASU last met in the 1988 Kentucky Invitational consolation game with the Indians winning, 80-51. BGSU defeated Arkansas State, 74-51, in Bowling Green.
