Recap | Final Stats | Notes
"The effort was there again tonight, I think that it has been there all year. Like coach said, we just get out of our own way in terms of giving up these runs. It is something that we work on in practice, as far as situations, trying to finish the half, start the half. I thought that tonight, basically, the ball game was set in the first four minutes of the first half (8-0 UB lead) and the first four minutes of the second half (12- 0 UB run) and that is what killed us."
"I thought Darryl Clements especially came in and battled real well. It is good to see. Hopefully he can get some time against Miami on Wednesday and hopefully he plays even better."
"The run that really kind of determined the game was at the start of the second half. Our turnovers, their easy baskets off turnovers and our inability to defend them. Then our inability to stay out of our own way a lot of times."
"I thought coming into that this was going to be a very difficult game. There are seniors on their team, there are guys that have played a lot of really good basketball for Buffalo ... I pretty much figured that this would be a very, very difficult game for us."
"I like the way that our team competed for the first half, but it was awful in the second half until we changed up the line up and started pressing and gave us a chance to get back in it."
"At the end of the day, we couldn't keep them off the foul line and we couldn't get some stops."
"I thought Darryl (Clements) was very competitive. The thing that has held Darryl is not shooting the ball well, and that happened today. I thought (Brian) Guerin was really good, and Pat Phillips."
Buffalo Head Coach Reggie Witherspoon
"We came off and watched them play against some of the better teams in the conference and they're a hard team to really beat. They're a difficult team to beat."
