"I thought that was a heck of a college basketball game. I thought that Martin Samarco was ridiculously good down the stretch, but I don't think we played as well as we could've played for the first 30 minutes, 35, 38 minutes, whatever. But then we did and we had our chances obviously to win the game. From the last play where we had the ball on the rim to a block out on a free throw which we actually talked about and walked through the other day. Then we made a bad play at the end..."
"I give them a lot of credit. They battled, we battled and that was a heck of a basketball game."
"If we get one rebound, we win. I thought the difference for us rebounding was Patrick Phillips. I thought that Patrick was able to get on the offensive glass and do a really good job and got us going. But we didn't get play out of some guys but we got great play out of Martin and great play out of Floyd for a couple games in a row and Patrick Phillips was tremendous. Steven, what do you say? Twenty-three points and nine assists but we didn't get enough play out of some guys.
Pat Phillips
"Coach (Dakich) tells us everybody's going to get their chance. When I get in there I'm supposed to bring energy, just play hard, and that's what I did tonight. Our hard work is going to pay off one of these games."
"They were chasing me, rushing me a little bit with my touches today. I knew if I kept cutting hard and playing defense, offense would come. It came later in the second half."
Ohio Head Coach Tim O'Shea
"After the last three games we've had, that was a really big win for us. We needed that and I think that if we had not been able to hang on, we really would've dug ourselves a deep hole to get out of, psychologically. I'm just very proud of my team and the way they hung in there."
"I feel for Dan Dakich, we were talking before the game. The wins just relieve the pressure, the losses kill you and in a game like tonight, his kids just played their hearts out and the performance by Samarco and Wright, hitting those tough shots. I mean, it was just such a classic game."
"There were mistakes but it added to the drama of the game and I'm sure that this is a MAC game that I'll always remember. Coming in here, the intensity of it, you're up you're down, you look defeated and then you find a way to come back."
"I just feel very fortunate to get a win and I can't say enough about the way the Bowling Green kids competed today, I thought that they were tremendous."
