Keating and O'Conner to be Honored as Falcons Host Bulls

BOWLING GREEN, Ohio - Seniors Caroline Keating and Brit O'Conner will swim their final meet in Cooper Pool as the Falcons welcome Mid-American Conference opponent, the University at Buffalo, to the Student Recreation Center on the campus of Bowling Green State University on Saturday afternoon. Both the Orange and Brown and the Buffalo Bulls are winless in the conference after five meets.
THANK YOU, SENIORS
Senior captains Caroline Keating and Brit O'Conner have combined for six Mid-American Conference tournament medals during their four year careers...Keating is the current record holder in the 500 and 200 free individual events and was a member of the 800 free relay that broke the record during the 2005 MAC Championships...she also holds top ten rankings in the 100, 1000, and 1,605 free and the 200 fly...she has also been voted the team MVP twice...O'Conner was voted team captain after not competing last season due to an injury...she was a member of the 400 medley relay team that placed second in the MAC Championships in 2003...she entered the season ranking 6th in the 100 back and 5th in the 200 back events...in the classroom, Keating is studying integrated mathematics with a minor in intervention services while O'Conner is perusing a degree in intervention services.
SCOUTING THE BULLS (1/20)
The Bulls enter the competition after coming off a 140-91 loss at Ohio...despite not winning a race, the Bulls posted a strong individual showings with one swimmer and one diver setting season-best record...last season, BGSU beat the Bulls, 181-119...Keating and fellow Falcon Alisha Yee combined for six first place finishes, with three a piece...diver Ashley Belrose also won both the 1- and 3-meter diving events...in total, BGSU brought home 28 top three finishes.
FALCON NOTES
Against Akron, the Falcons toughed the wall first six times with five of the races wins coming from individual performances...Yee won both the 200 back and IM events...Keating is four-of-four in the 1000 free event in MAC meetings...Meg Richardson and Kimberly Albin also won the 100 free and 200 breast events, respectively...BGSU also won the 400 relay...the Falcons placed second in seven events and third in five additional races.
