BOWLING GREEN, Ohio (BGSUFalcons.com) - The Bowling Green State University women's soccer team, having won four consecutive matches to conclude the regular-season schedule, has earned a first-round home game in the Mid-American Conference Tournament ... the Falcons of head coach Andy Richards (9-9-1, 6-5-0 MAC), having earned the fourth seed for the MAC Tournament, host fifth-seeded Eastern Michigan University in league tourney quarterfinal action Sunday afternoon (Nov. 4) ... the Falcons and Eagles will meet in a 1:00 p.m. kickoff at Cochrane Field ... the winner of the BGSU-EMU match will join the other three quarterfinal-round survivors for Friday's (Nov. 9) semifinal round, which will be held at the highest-remaining seed among those four teams ... the championship match is scheduled for Sunday, Nov. 11, at the semifinal site.

Freshman Meagan Moran scored twice in the final two minutes of regulation, lifting the Falcons to a 2-1 road win over arch-rival Toledo Thursday afternoon (Nov. 1) ... UT got on the board early in the second half ... Moran scored the equalizer off an assist from Danielle Cygan with just 1:44 remaining ... then, Moran scored again, on a 25-yard bullet with only 23 seconds left in the second half ... redshirt freshman goalkeeper Alexa Arsenault made three saves in the victory, the Falcons' sixth-straight win at UT's Scott Park Field ... the win, coupled with Eastern Michigan's loss to Central Michigan, gave the Falcons the fourth seed and a home berth for the MAC Tournament.

FALCONS IN THE MAC TOURNAMENT
BGSU has qualified for the MAC Tournament for the sixth consecutive season and the eighth time in the 11-year history of the program ... prior to the current six-year run, the Falcons had never made the tourney in back-to-back seasons ... the Falcons, the 2004 and 2005 tournament champions, are 2-1-2 all-time in league tourney home matches entering Sunday's contest vs. Eastern Michigan ... BGSU has a 5-1-1 record in the quarterfinal round through the years.
FALCONS AND EAGLES IN THE MAC TOURNAMENT
Eastern Michigan is one of the Falcons' most common opponents in MAC Tournament play over the years ... but, BGSU has never met the Eagles at home in the league tourney ... the teams have met on three prior occasions - all in the quarterfinal round, and all in Ypsilanti - with the Falcons winning all three matches by a single goal ... BGSU has beaten Eastern as a six, seven and eight seed in the league tourney ... the Falcons have also met Miami and Western Michigan three times in MAC Tournament action.

Redshirt freshman goalkeeper Alexa Arsenault has a 6-3-1 record and a goals-against average of just 0.80 ... the Richmond Hill, Ontario, native has five complete-game shutouts this season, including three in a row through the Akron game ... BG allowed a goal early in the second half at Toledo, snapping Arsenault's and BGSU's shutout streak at 346:56 ... that marks the third-longest streak in school history (by the team), and the fourth-longest such streak of consecutive shutout minutes by an individual ... teammate Christy Zabek owns the longest streak in BGSU history, blanking opponents for a total of 544:48 over parts of the 2005 and 2006 seasons.
HEAD COACH Andy Richards
Andy Richards is in his eighth season as a collegiate head coach, all with the Falcons ... he has guided the Brown and Orange to unprecedented heights during that time ... the 2005 MAC Coach of the Year, Richards currently has an overall record of 80-78-13, including a MAC Tournament mark of 8-4-3 ... upon his arrival in Northwest Ohio, he took over a team that had gone 19-34-4 in the previous three seasons ... last year, Richards guided the youthful Falcons to 10 overall wins and a tie for third place in the MAC standings ... that came on the heels of the '05 campaign, in which he led the Falcons to the first regular-season title in BG annals and a second-straight MAC Tournament crown ... Richards has led BGSU to the semifinal round of the league tourney on five occasions, to the championship match four times, and, in 2004, to the first league tourney title and NCAA Tournament berth in school history ... Richards and the Falcons repeated that feat in '05, as BGSU again won the MAC Tournament crown.
MORAN STRIKES TWICE AT TOLEDO
Freshman Meagan Moran, as mentioned numerous times already, scored a pair of late goals in the Falcons' win at Toledo ... Moran's two goals came 1:21 apart, ranking her third on the list of 'fastest two goals' by an individual ... but, it could be argued that Moran's two goals were the most dramatic ... Moran's feat marked the fastest two goals by an individual in a MAC game in school history ... and, no other pair of goals came so close together, so late in a game ... Tracy Gleixner set the record with a pair of goals just 17 seconds apart vs. Detroit nine years ago (Oct. 27, 1998) ... Kristy Coppes scored two goals just 1:10 apart against the same school, in a win over UDM on Sept. 4, 2002.
THE OPPONENT / THE SERIES
Eastern Michigan enters Sunday's game with a record of 7-7-4, and the Eagles finished fifth in the final MAC standings with a league mark of 5-4-2 ... Eastern is looking to snap a two-game losing streak, having lost one-goal games at Northern Illinois (1-0, Oct. 27) and at home vs. Central Michigan (2-1, Nov. 1) ... prior to the last two contests, Eastern had a six-game unbeaten streak, which began with a win at BGSU on Oct. 7 ... included during that time was a 7-1 offensive explosion vs. Buffalo ... EMU is 4-5-1 on the road, and had a 3-3-0 road record in MAC games this year ... Ashley Rodrigues leads the team in scoring, with 16 points, while Stephanie Janssens has 14 and Maggie Christensen 13 ... Rodrigues and Christensen are tied for the team lead with six goals apiece, while Janssens leads the Eagles with eight assists ... Maggie Manville has played every second of every match in goal, and has 85 saves and a goals-against average of 0.99 ... head coach Scott Hall returned 19 letterwinners, including 10 starters, from last year's team that finished 6-10-2 overall and 3-8-0 in the MAC ... the school's athletics web site is www.emueagles.com.
The Falcons trail Eastern Michigan, 7-6-1, in the all-time series ... something will have to give on Sunday, as BGSU is just 1-3-0 vs. the Eagles in home games, but the Falcons are a perfect 3-0-0 in MAC Tournament meetings - all in Ypsilanti - vs. Eastern ... the Eagles posted a 2-0 victory at Cochrane Field in this year's regular-season meeting last month (Oct. 7) ... BGSU's one home win in the series came last season (Oct. 22, 2006), on a last-minute goal by Samantha Bland and a shutout by Christy Zabek ... overall, Eastern's 2007 regular-season win snapped a two-game BGSU series winning streak.
McDONALD MAKES ACADEMIC ALL-DISTRICT TEAM
BGSU junior Kristin McDonald has been named to the ESPN The Magazine Academic All-District Team, it was announced Thursday (Nov. 1) ... McDonald, named to the second team, earns the honor for the first time in her career ... McDonald maintains a perfect 4.00 cumulative GPA as a health science major ... the ESPN The Magazine Academic All-District Team is made up of student-athletes from Division I schools in the states of Alabama, Kentucky, Michigan, Ohio and Tennessee ... McDonald has played in 13 matches this season to date, making one start, and has a pair of assists.
YEE NAMED MAC PLAYER OF THE WEEK
Junior Corbie Yee was named the MAC Player of the Week, the league office announced Monday morning (Oct. 29) ... Yee earned the honor for the first time this season and the second time in her Falcon career ... Yee, a native of Berea, Ohio, scored both of the Falcons' goals in a pair of 1-0 wins at Cochrane Field last weekend ... she recorded the second 'Golden Goal' of her career, giving the Falcons a victory over Ohio (Oct. 26) ... two days later (Oct. 28), Yee scored in the 62nd minute for what proved to be the game-winning goal in a 1-0 victory over Akron.

The Falcons will compete in the MAC Tournament for the sixth consecutive season, the second-longest active streak in the MAC ... Ball State has made the league tourney for the seventh-straight year ...
