Alisha Yee Named MAC Swimmer of the Week

BOWLING GREEN,Ohio - Bowling Green State University junior Alisha Yee has been named the Mid-American Conference Swimmer of the week, the league announced Tuesday afternoon. This is the first career MAC swimmer of the week for Yee.
Yee, a native of Las Cruces, New Mexico, placed first in all 6 individual events she competed in as well as swimming in one relay victory in the Falcon's two duel meets last weekend (Nov. 2 and 3rd).
The junior won both the 100 yard back in 58.17 and the 200 back in 2:04.05 at Eastern Michigan. Yee was also triumphant in the 200 yard IM, swimming it in 2:07.52.
The following day at Ball State, Yee once again won each event she competed in. She took the 100 yard back with a time of 58.96 and the 200 yard back in 2:06.39. She then won the 400 yard IM, swimming it in 4:33.35. In addition, Yee swam the opening leg of the victorious 200 yard medley relay team.
Yee, a first-team All-MAC selection last year, ranks 3rd in the 200 and 9th in the 400 IM on BGSU's Top Swimmers List. Furthermore, she ranks 2nd in the 100 and 3rd in the 200 backstroke and 9th in the 100 fly on that same list.
The swimming and diving Falcons next host a pair of duel meets at Cooper Pool. The Ohio University Bobcats will travel to Bowling Green on Friday (Nov.9) followed by The Miami University RedHawks, a day later.
