(BGSUFalcons.com) - Despite dropping both weekend contests to the new top-ranked team in the country, the Michigan Wolverines, the Bowling Green State University hockey team remained in the national polls this week coming in at 19th in the latest USCHO/CSTV poll released Monday afternoon.
The Falcons, who currently sit at 8-6-0 overall and 5-5-0 in the Central Collegiate Hockey Association, also received a 19th-place ranking in the latest edition of InsideCollegeHockey.com's "Power Rankings", released Sunday evening by the online website.
The Falcons will take the next 18 days off before returning to the ice on Dec. 28th and 29th when they compete in the Badger Showdown, hosted by the University of Wisconsin. BG will meet the #11 Northeastern Huskies in game one and will face either the host Badgers or Colgate on day two. Both contests from the Kohl Center in Madison, Wis., can be heard by tuning into WBGU 88.1 FM as Danny Nieves and Tim Baughman will provide all the play-by-play.
