SAMARCO GOES OVER THE 1,000-POINT MARK
With his three-pointer at 17:04 of the first half, senior Martin Samarco became the 35th player in school history to eclipse the 1,000-point mark as a Falcon. He finished with a game-high 21 points and is 34th all-time in scoring at BGSU with 1,018 points.
Samarco is just the second junior college player to join the list (Tommy Harris, 1,137 points, 1975-77).
He is the fourth player to score more than 1,000 in less than two seasons (Harris, Jim Darrow, 47 games, 1957-59, and James Gerber, 53 games, 1950-52). Samarco accomplished the feat in 53 games.
He is the first player since Josh Almanson (2004-05) to join the club.
He also is the eighth player coached by Dan Dakich to score more than 1,000 points as a Falcon (Anthony Stacey, Keith McLeod, Len Matela, John Reimold, Almanson, Kevin Netter, Dave Esterkamp).
