"We wanted to come out with a sense of purpose. The last few days have been difficult, but hopefully this will make us come together as a group and we will build on it."
"We have guys that can shoot it (three's) and when they are on it opens things up inside and makes it a lot easier."
"We had a couple plays designed to go to me down low and the first one worked so we kept going to it."
"We wanted to prove something and I think we did tonight."
BGSU Coach Dan Dakich
(On his team becoming a family)
"In the last couple days and even leading up to the Buffalo game. However you want to slice it, the Buffalo game was a win for us. I'm really proud of how our guys have handled me, themselves, the team, since that awful situation. I don't think a lot of people could handle what happened, a lot of athletes. But our guys, as I have said all along are tough, they just need the opportunity to grow up. It's been a struggle certainly, but even before our team went to Buffalo I felt our team was coming. What happens from here on, who knows, but that is what I sense right now."
"Teams are funny. We have one senior who plays a lot and one who doesn't, so its a young team with peaks and valleys, and we just have to be able to get out of that valley."
On the team hitting from the outside early
"It was really big. They did a great job in the first half. They are playing a zone. I'm guessing they looked at us statistically and said we really need to play a zone. Ryan hit the first three of the game which I think made at least everybody feel like it wasn't going to be on whether Martin (Samarco) makes or misses
On Erik Marschall
"I thought Erik had a real solid. I think he has really struggled with conditioning since he has been back. We saw a mismatch, we drew up a play, and he scored like seven straight points. We were certainly bigger than them and wanted to use it a some point in the game. You just don't really want to jack three's, because eventually you just start missing."
How do you feel about stepping out of conference play at this time
"Yes, since we won to tell you the truth. The BracketBuster is a concept I have always really liked. Would I have liked to have a Saturday off? Yea, if we would have lost, but the concept is great. Regardless, the way we played in the first half, or for the first 30 minutes, I really wished we had a conference game, because we could have beat a lot of teams in our league. Hopefully, we didn't use it all up. I thought we played really well."
