AKRON, Ohio (AP) - Romeo Travis scored a career-high 37 points to lead Akron to a 93-87 victory over Bowling Green on Saturday night.
Travis, who hit 10-of-13 shots from the field and 16-of-23 free throws, also had a season-high 11 rebounds.
Dru Joyce added 13 points and seven assists, setting the career mark for assists with 483 in 117 games. Nick Dials and Jeremiah Wood each added 12 points and Cedrick Middleton had 11 for the Zips (21-6, 11-3 Mid-American Conference).
Martin Samarco led Bowling Green (12-16, 2-12) with 25 points. Ryne Hamblet added 20 points, 10 assists and eight rebounds, with Nate Miller scoring 18 points.
Akron led 41-38 at the break and opened the second half on a 10-0 run. The Falcons pulled even on a Hamblet basket to tie the game at 75-75.
Joyce and Dials hit 3-pointers to push the lead to 87-80 only to have Bowling Green score the next four points. Travis then dunked off an assist from Middleton to help put the game away.
