Volleyball Helps Out

BOWLING GREEN, Ohio - Despite the holiday season long gone, the Falcon volleyball team still gave back this week when they volunteered at the Sparrow's Nest. The Sparrow's Nest is a safe emergency shelter for single women in Toledo, Ohio sponsored by the Cherry St. Mission. The players and coaches helped serve food, washed the dishes and then talked to the residents about their experiences during their visit.

"It was a great opportunity for the players to serve and visit with these women," said BGSU Head Coach Denise Van De Walle. "To listen to them tell their stories of what's gone on in their lives. It was a moving experience for us all. I definitely plan to go back and see them. I'm sure many of the players will come with me."
