Mann, a native of Chelsea, Mich. (Chelsea H.S.), averaged 12.5 points and 4.0 rebounds while shooting 58.8 percent from the field as the Falcons split two games last week. BGSU posted arguably the biggest win in MAC history last Tuesday (March 20), downing Vanderbilt, 59-56 to advance to the NCAA's 'Sweet 16'. Then, the Falcons saw the season come to an end with a 67-49 loss to Arizona State on Saturday (March 24).
In the Vanderbilt game, Mann had 10 points and four rebounds, hitting possibly the biggest shot in school history -- a back-breaking three-pointer to give the Falcons a six-point lead with 55 seconds left. Mann then scored a team-high 15 points in the Arizona State game, going 6-for-9 from the field.
On the week, she shot 10-of-17, including a 3-for-4 effort (75.0%) from three-point land. Mann was a perfect 2-for-2 from long distance in the Vandy game.
Mann ends her BGSU career ranked second in school history in scoring (1,825 points) and third in rebounding (911). She helped the Falcons to a school- and MAC-record 31 wins this season, as the Falcons went 31-4 (the most wins by a MAC basketball team, men or women).
BGSU went 103-25 in the four years since she and her classmates arrived on campus, a school record for wins in a four-year period.
Mann, the MAC's co-Player of the Year, was named to the Academic All-MAC and ESPN The Magazine Academic All-District teams earlier this month. She maintains a 3.49 cumulative grade point average as a supply chain management major.
The MAC Scholar Athlete of the Week honor is presented to one MAC male and one female student-athlete each week. Candidates must be of sophomore standing or higher, have a cumulative GPA of 3.00 or better and have performed well during the prior week's competition. The winners are selected by a group of the conference's faculty athletic representatives.
