Bowling Green Quotes
Bowling Green Head Coach Curt Miller
(opening comment)
"Survive and move on, it's that time of year. In the MAC tournament the physicality of the game can be tough- tough teams survive and tough teams move on. I'm proud of our team tonight, it was a grind it out kind of game and that's fine this time of year. There's no more worries from a coaching standpoint about pretty wins, its all about just winning and we found ways tonight."
(on Carin Horne's play)
"At this time of the year when everyone knows each other's plays it's simply about players making plays. There is something special about this senior group that we are lead by. When plays break down we have playmakers that make their own plays and Carin (Horne) is a perfect example of that. We run less plays for her than we do for other players because when things break down she can create her own shot."
Senior forward Carin Horne
(on playing well in the MAC Tournament)
"This year (the reason) is definitely being a senior. There are no more chances: you just have to give it your all."
Junior guard Kate Achter
(on the rivalry with Toledo)
"They have a great post game, their guards can do it all. But the rivalry adds to it, everyone has come out this year and played their best against us but against Toledo it's always like this."
Toledo Quotes
Toledo Head Coach Mark Ehlen
(opening comment)
"I thought we had some moments and we gave them a run. Offensive consistency for us was a real problem. We made a little bit of a run and then we would go on spurts where we couldn't score for a couple minutes, sometimes we kind of hurt ourselves. When you are playing Bowling Green you have to be pretty good to beat them. I like how hard we played. I'm not sure how smart we played, but we really played hard. We competed and didn't give up. They are a good team and it's just part of the game.
Senior Forward Savannah Werner
(on getting the ball into the post early)
"We knew they didn't want to fall so we had to be aggressive early. We knew that they were short on the bench so coach told us to attack and see what happens. Early in the game it was working for us."
