BOWLING GREEN, Ohio - Head Volleyball Coach Denise Van De Walle has added Robert Frost to her coaching staff. Frost will begin at BGSU on June 11th after serving as the Head Volleyball Coach at Belhaven College last season in which the Blazers went 25-11 overall.
As an assistant at Cleveland State in 2005, Frost helped guide the Lady Vikings to a 18-9 overall record and 2nd place in the Horizon League. In his two-year tenure, Frost coached back-to-back winning seasons.
Frost spent 2002 as the Assistant Volleyball Coach at Taylor University (IN), where he helped compile a 33-15 overall record and consistently had the team ranked in the NAIA top 25. Prior to his time at Taylor, Frost helped coach the Moody Bible Institute's women's volleyball team to the NCCAA Division II Midwest Regional Championship, and third place at Nationals, with a 27-11 overall record.
"I am really excited to announce the addition of Rob Frost to our staff," said Van De Walle. "I've known Rob for several years. He has been a staff coach for our summer camps and always received great reviews. He has been involved at several levels of the game and we are fortunate to have him leave his head coaching position at Belhaven College to join us here. He is a first class individual with high standards and high moral character. We look for Rob to help us continue our quest for a MAC Championship and national prominence."
"I have the utmost respect for Coach Van De Walle and am excited to be a part of what she has done with the volleyball program at BGSU," said Frost. "I am privileged to have the opportunity to work in such a high quality and competitive environment. I am impressed with the character and consistency of Coach Van De Walle and (Mark) Hardaway and am confident I will continue to develop as a professional under their leadership. I'm eager to help the team get that MAC Championship we talked about while I was there for my interview."
