Domek Named MAC East POW

CLEVELAND, Ohio - Corey Domek was named Mid-American Conference East Division Player of the Week after helping the Falcons to back-to-back wins over both the MAC East and West Division leaders, Miami and Western Michigan, announce by the conference office this afternoon (Nov. 3). This is Domek's first career MAC East POW selection.
Domek, a Naperville, Illinois native, terminated a team high 33 kills averaging 4.00 kills per set and posting a .333 hitting percentage on the week, much higher than her average hitting percentage in MAC play (.243).
She led the Falcons in a come from behind win over MAC leader, WMU with a career and match high 25 kills, a .380 hitting percentage and a 50 percent kill ratio (25 kills in 50 attempts). Domek's spectacular performance at the net against the Broncos also included a career milestone as she terminated her 1,000th career kill to end the fourth set for the Falcons, becoming the 15th player in BGSU history to accomplish such a feat. Domek then went on to have a perfect performance in the fifth set pounding six kills with no errors in 11 attempts hitting an impressive .600. She also complied a team high 33.5 points, three blocks, two assists and a dig on the week.
Domek and the Falcons now on a six match winning streak will return to action as they hit the road for another crucial weekend in MAC play as they match-up against East division foes, Kent State on Friday (Nov. 7) and Ohio Saturday (Nov. 8).
