Day One of OSU Invitational Comes to an End

BOWLING GREEN, Ohio - As the first day of the Ohio State Invitational at McCorkle Aquatic Pavilion comes to an end, BGSU shows strength in both individual and relay events. BGSU swimming and diving swam to a sixth place finish after the first day with 73 points.
The Orange and Brown showed strength in numbers as they took sixth, ninth and 11th place finishes in the 200 freestyle relay. The top BGSU team in the 200 freestyle relay consisted of Meg Richardson, Carrie Enright, Sarah Reinik, and Sami Jordan. The team finished with a time of 1:35.87, only seven-tenths of a second behind the top time recorded in BGSU history.
In the 400-yard medley relay, the Falcons took 13th and 14th places. Jordan, Amanda Rom, Sarah Burston and Frankie Houck took 13th place with a time of 3:52.18 while Kristen Tetuan, Katie Womack, Liz Harper and Jen Beatty finished 14th with a time of 3:53.09.
The Falcons also had top individual finishers in today's finals. Meg Richardson broke the BGSU top individual time of 23.72 with her 50-yard freestyle sprint time of 23.70. Alisha Yee and Sarah Burston also competed in today's 200-yard individual medley finals. Yee took 15th with a time of 2:06.72 and Burston finished not far behind with a time of 2:09.58.
Swimming and diving events resume tomorrow (Dec. 6) with preliminaries at 10:00 a.m. and finals at 5:00 p.m.
