LOS ANGELES - With only a week remaining in sunny California, E! Channel intern, and soon-to-be BGSU alumnae, Whitney Taylor is utilizing her final days previewing new shows and visiting live tapings of some of E!'s most popular shows. Jealous yet?
Next week is my last week interning for E! Entertainment, so I've been trying to maximize my final opportunities within the company. Last week I was able to sit in on a screening for a new show being put out by one of E! Entertainment's affiliate channels (the G4 Network). The show, entitled "Hurl", had an interesting game show twist where contestants eat large quantities of food and then compete in interesting aerodynamic and athletic events in order to see who can last the longest without getting sick. The luncheon for the show appropriately served macaroni and cheese, which was one of the eating contests featured in the show. After leaving the screening, I do not plan to eat macaroni and cheese ever again in my life (Ha!), but it was very interesting seeing how screenings for the different shows actual happen here at E!.
This week I am sitting in on a Paint Box session, where motion and on-air graphics are created for the numerous E! shows. I will also be attending a taping of E!'s show "The Soup" and meeting host Joel McHale as well as featured guests; this week is a very busy week!
Next week will conclude my time spent at E! Entertainment and also my summer in Los Angeles. I will then return home to Ohio before moving to Manhattan in the fall for my next adventure and internship at Nickelodeon. The summer has definitely flown by, but though the experiences, education, and networking I have had the honor of experiencing here at E! Entertainment have been truly exceptional.
More coming soon...
GO FALCONS!
