Volleyball Hosts 20th Annual Spring Fling Tournament

BOWLING GREEN, Ohio - Head coach Denise Van De Walle and the Bowling Green State University volleyball team will host the 20th Annual Spring Fling Tournament on Saturday (April 4) in Anderson Arena.
The Falcons will play four matches in the Spring Fling Tournament on Saturday in Anderson Arena. BG will open the tournament against Grand Valley at 10:00 a.m. followed by Wayne State at 11:00 a.m. The Falcons will then take on two very familiar teams Mid-American Conference West division opponent Eastern Michigan at 1:00 p.m. and wrap-up the tournament against the BG Alum team at 2:00 p.m.
The BG Alum team will bring back plenty of familiar Falcon faces along with a variety of BG legends. The BG Alum team combined holds 18 individual program records, three MAC Player of the Year awards, nine All-MAC selections and three All-Mideast Region selections. The BG Alum team will consist of Chelsey Meek and Meghan Mohr two of the three seniors from the 2008 senior trio, which led the Falcons to a 25-9 record. Elizabeth Simon class of `07, Chrissy Gothke class of `06, Emily Manser class of `05, 1995 MAC Player of the Year Carlyn Esslinger Smith class of `95 and 1990 and 1991 MAC Player of the Year, Tammy Schiller Justice class of '91 will round out the team.
