Bowling Green, Ohio – The Bowling Green State University athletic department has announced that the Nov. 21 hockey game against the University of Michigan will be played in the new Lucas County Arena in downtown Toledo.
The game is scheduled to begin at 7:05 p.m. between the two Central Collegiate Hockey Association (CCHA) rivals.
Bowling Green opens its season by hosting Wilfrid Laurier in an exhibition game Oct. 3 at noon. The Falcons' first regular season games will take place Oct. 9-10 at Minnesota State and BGSU will return home for another exhibition game against the U.S. National Team Development Program on Oct. 16. The team's regular season home opener will be played Oct. 23 against Providence at 7:05 p.m. in the first of a two-game series with the Friars.
Following the Providence series, Bowling Green will begin its 28-game conference slate by playing at Nebraska Omaha Oct. 30-31. Sandwiched in the middle of the CCHA schedule is the Dodge Holiday Classic Tournament, hosted by Minnesota, Jan. 2-3. The Falcons will play Minnesota at 7 p.m. on the first day of the event and will face off with either Northern Michigan or Clarkson on day two.
The Bowling Green hockey program will be under the tutelage of first year interim head coach Dennis Williams. Williams was named to the post after the resignation of seven-year coach Scott Paluch and spent the 2008-09 season as an assistant coach for the Falcon hockey team. He was also the head coach at NCAA Division III Neumann College for three seasons.
All Bowling Green season ticket packages will include this game and season ticket holders and flex pack holders will have an early exclusive window to purchase additional tickets to the game. More details will be provided on bgsufalcons.com as the game approaches.
