Hockey Team Helps with Move In
August 24, 2009 | Ice Hockey
BGSU Hockey will not be strangers to the campus or community in 2009-10.
Bowling Green State University welcomed back its undergraduate students this weekend and to help with the welcoming party were coaches and players from all 18 Falcon athletic teams, including the Falcon hockey team.
Sunday, members of the Falcon hockey team helped parents and fellow BGSU students move into their campus dorm rooms. Teammates took shifts manning the Harshman-Compton and Darrow residence halls helping underclassmen get settled into their new homes for the upcoming school year.
“We’re really glad to be able to give back to the University and the students in this way. The BGSU students have been so loyal over time and this is our chance to give back to them,” said interim head coach Dennis Williams.
This is the first step in obtaining success in three areas that coach Williams is focused on for this year's team. "I want our team to have success in three areas. In the classroom. In the community, and on the ice," said Williams. The Falcon hockey team will be active again when the Black Swamp Art Festival returns to Bowling Green in the coming weeks. The team will be present at the festival's tie-dye station on Saturday, Sept. 12 from 12:45 p.m. to 5:30 p.m. and Sunday, Sept. 13 from 11:30 a.m. to 5:30 p.m.
