
Gymnastics Hosts NIU In Home Opener on Sunday

Head coach Kerrie Beach and the Falcons are set to open their new nest and home in Anderson Arena as they host Northern Illinois on Sunday (Jan. 24) at 2:00 p.m. It will be the first Mid-American Conference meet for the Falcons in 2010.
Falcons in Home Openers
The Falcons have protected their nest with a 24-11 record in home openers ... since 2000 the Falcons have owned an 9-1 record, including eight straight home opener victories from 2000-2007.
Falcons Compete in the “House That Roars”
The Falcon gymnasts will compete in Anderson Arena for all home competitions in 2010. Following the contest with NIU, BGSU will also host Eastern Michigan (Feb. 21) and Central Michigan (Mar. 21). The MAC Championships, which take place on Mar. 27, will be hosted by Bowling Green, also inside “The House That Roars”.
Falcons Open Season With Loss At Michigan
The Bowling Green State University gymnastics team finished third back on Jan. 9, falling to No. 12 Michigan (194.875) and Iowa (193.200) in Ann Arbor, Mich. The Falcons posted a score of 189.925. Breanne Guy finished seventh in the all-around (37.125), while Dawn Christman finished fourth on the floor (9.750) and Danielle Wishart finished sixth on the vault (9.725).
This Week's Matchup
The Falcons will host a fellow Mid-American Conference opponent in Northern Illinois this Sunday, a series BGSU leads 9-5 all-time. These two squads finished third and fourth at last year's MAC Championships, with the Huskies edging-out third-place with a score of 192.700, followed by the Orange and Brown's 192.425.Falcons in Home Openers
