Penrod Named MAC East Offensive Player Of The Week

Cleveland, Ohio – Bowling Green freshman left side Paige Penrod was named Mid-American Conference Player of the Week Monday for the second time this season. This week, she was named East Division Offensive Player of the Week after being named Defensive Player of the Week on Sept. 27.
Penrod broke the school record for kills in a season by a freshman after posting 19 kills against Kent State. She followed that up with 17 the next night against Ohio, giving her 387 for the year. Susie Norris had set the record in 2000 with 360 kills.
On the week, Penrod averaged 5.14 kills per set and added 13 digs. She was also perfect in 47 serve receive attempts.
Bowling Green begins the postseason Tuesday night as the Falcons travel to Eastern Michigan for the first round of the MAC Tournament.
