The Bowling Green State University gymnastics squad will put its four-match win streak on the line this Sunday as they play host to the Eastern Michigan Eagles inside Anderson Arena. The two-team meet is scheduled to begin at 2 p.m.
The Falcons (4-2, 3-0) will be in search of their fifth consecutive win and fourth-straight inside the Mid American Conference. The current four-match win streak is the Falcons' longest since the 2007-08 season and their first 3-0 MAC start since 2001-02.
BGSU is coming off a 191.575-190.475 win over Ball State in Muncie, Ind. Senior Breanne Guy won the all-around and the balance beam with scores of 38.375 and 9.800. The Falcons owned the top four scores on the beam, outscoring the Cardinals 48.075-46.200 to help in the win.
The Eagles (2-4, 1-2 MAC) squeaked out a 188.200-188.125 win over fellow MAC opponent, Western Michigan. The Eagles' top performer was Erin Grigg, who recorded a 38.450 in the all-around to finish first.
Road Warriors
The Falcons are returning home for the first time since downing Northern Illinois on Jan. 24. The Falcons, who have had three road meets between the NIU and EMU contests are 3-0 in that span with wins over Western Michigan, Illinois-Chicago and Ball State.
Home Sweet Home
The contest with the Eagles will be just the second home meet for the Orange and Brown in 2010. The last time the Falcons competed inside Anderson Arena they posted a 192.625, their second-highest score of the year in a win over the Huskies. It will be another month before the Falcons return home when they host Central Michigan on Mar. 21. Following the contest with the Chippewas, BGSU will host the MAC Championships on Mar. 27.
