
Falcons "Back Spring" Into MAC Play Versus KSU

The Bowling Green State University gymnastics team will return to Mid-American Conference play this weekend (Mar. 14) with a trip to Kent, Ohio, for a dual meet with the Golden Flashes. The meet is scheduled to begin at 1 p.m.
The Falcons have lost three straight, posting scores of 190.675 versus Western Michigan and Illinois-Chicago and a 191.550 at West Virginia last weekend (Mar. 6), after winning five straight from Jan. 24 through Feb. 21.
During that five-match win streak the Falcons posted no worse than a 191.575 (at Ball State), but surpassed the 193.00 mark twice, most recently at home versus Eastern Michigan (193.175).
Even with the current losing streak, the Falcons remain atop the MAC standing with a perfect 4-0 record, but face its' nearest competition the next two weeks in Kent State and Central Michigan. The Golden Flashes are currently 3-0 in conference play, while the Chippewas are 2-1.
A win over Kent State would guarantee the Falcons at least a tie for the MAC regular season championship.
Kent State (7-3, 3-0 MAC) is coming off their best performance of the year, scoring a 195.950 in a loss to No. 15 Kentucky (196.050). The Flashes' Christine Abou-Mitri finished first in the all-around with a total of 39.275.
Following the meet with KSU the Falcons will host Central Michigan on Mar. 21, followed by the MAC Championships on Mar. 27. Both contests will take place inside Anderson Arena.
