Bowling Green, Ohio – The Mid-American Conference released the 2010 Volleyball Coaches Preseason Poll today and Bowling Green State University was picked to finish fifth in the MAC East Division.

In the West, Central Michigan picked up seven first-place votes and was picked first, followed closely behind by Western Michigan, which got the other five first-place votes. Northern Illinois, Toledo, Ball State, and Eastern Michigan rounded out the division.
Bowling Green went 13-20 a year ago and finished 5-11 in the MAC East Division, snapping a string of three consecutive 20-win seasons. The Falcons did upset rival Toledo in the first round of the MAC Tournament as Head Coach Denise Van De Walle earned her 500th career victory.
The 2010 season will be the final year of volleyball competition in Anderson Arena as Bowling Green is completing work on the Stroh Center, a new convocation center that will be the home of the volleyball, basketball, and gymnastics programs. The BGSU Athletics Department is holding a year-long celebration of Anderson Arena titled “Closing The Doors Of The House That Roars.”
In honor of the 35th and final year of volleyball competition in Anderson Arena, Bowling Green is offering season tickets for $35. The Falcons play 12 home matches during the 2010 season and the offer is almost 50 percent off the walk-up price.
