Kauth, Dunn Sweep MAC East Player Of The Week Awards

Cleveland, Ohio – Bowling Green senior middle Emily Kauth and sophomore libero Ashley Dunn were named the Mid-American Conference's East Division Volleyball Offensive and Defensive Players of the Week Monday. It is the second time Dunn has received the award in her career and the first time for Kauth.
In fact, Kauth and Dunn are the fourth and fifth different BGSU players to be honored as a MAC Player of the Week this year. Danielle Tonyan and Paige Penrod were named MAC East Offensive Players of the Week earlier this year and Kari Galen earned Defensive Player of the Week honors once.
Kauth had 33 kills on the week, an average of 3.30 per set, and hit at an astounding .476 rate. She hit at least .400 in all three matches on the week and peaked with 16 kills in a four-set win over rival Toledo. In that key victory, she hit .500 (16-1-30) and added a service ace and a block.
Dunn had 48 digs on the week, averaging 4.80 per set. She extended her streak of double-digit dig matches to 12 with 11 against Oakland, 19 at Toledo, and 18 at Ball State. She also had just two serve reception errors on the week and added a service ace.
Bowling Green is 17-7 on the year and 4-6 in Mid-American Conference play, holding onto sole possession of second place in the East Division. The Falcons are in action Friday night against Kent State at 7 p.m. and will host Ohio Saturday at 3 p.m. for Denise Van De Walle Recognition Day.
