QUICK HITS
• Saturday's game is Bowling Green Community Day ... all Bowling Green residents can purchase Chairback Reserved seats to the Butler game for only $6 by showing proof of residency at the BGSU Ticket Office.
• The Butler game is also an "Orange Out" ... fans are encouraged to wear orange to the Stroh Center on Saturday afternoon.
• The Falcons are looking to extend a modest three-game winning streak ... after starting the season with losses to Dayton and Purdue, BGSU downed Evansville by a 71-54 final at the Stroh Center (Nov. 20) ... then, two days later, the Brown and Orange rallied from a 15-point deficit to record a 57-49 road win over Detroit.
• On Tuesday (Nov. 29), the Falcons exploded for 60 first-half points en route to an 86-62 win over Western Kentucky at the Stroh ... no fewer than five BGSU players posted a career-high scoring total in the win over the Lady Toppers.
• Junior Chrissy Steffen and sophomore Jillian Halfhill each set career scoring bests for the second consecutive game ... Steffen, who had 23 points in the win at Detroit, scored a game-high 24 vs. WKU ... Halfhill, who had 12 points in the Motor City, scored 22 vs. the Lady Toppers.
• Halfhill was a perfect 5-for-5 from three-point range vs. WKU, falling just one triple shy of matching the school single-game record for long-range percentage ... Susie Cassell holds that mark with a 6-for-6 effort vs. Illinois State (Dec. 30, 1992).
• Halfhill's long-range display on Tuesday night matched her career total entering the game ... she had hit five career three-pointers prior to the WKU match, before going 5-of-5 from long distance vs. the Toppers.
• BGSU entered Tuesday's game averaging 54.8 points per game on the season ... the Falcons topped that total on a three-pointer by freshman Jasmine Matthews with 1:37 left in the first half.
• BG scored 60 points in a half for the first time in over seven years, since the second game of the 2004-05 season ... the Falcons had 60 second-half points in a 115-84 win at IPFW (Nov. 19, 2004) ... the school record for points in a half is 66, set vs. Kent (Jan. 11, 1989) and matched vs. Valparaiso (Jan. 5, 1992).
• Steffen and Halfhill, as mentioned, were two of no fewer than five Falcons to post career-high totals in scoring in the WKU game ... sophomore Jill Stein had 10 points, hitting double digits for the first time in her BGSU career, while freshmen Deborah Hoekstra and Shanique Ogle scored their first collegiate points on Tuesday night ... Hoekstra wound up with seven points in seven minutes, while Ogle hit her only shot from the floor and added a pair of rebounds in two minutes of work.
• BGSU's first-ever meeting with Saturday's opponent, Butler, came just over 14 years ago, as the Falcons downed the Bulldogs in the first round of the UCF Turkey Shootout in Orlando in November of 1997 ... the Falcons lost in the second round of that three-day, eight-team tournament, falling to Syracuse ... that 'Cuse team, featuring a young assistant coach named Curt Miller, went on to win the tournament.
• The Falcons have a turnover margin of +6.6 through the season's first five games, ranking second among Mid-American Conference teams ... BGSU has forced opponents into 21.0 turnovers per game to date, and the Falcons are averaging 11.6 steals per contest.
