QUICK HITS
• The Falcons are looking to extend a five-game winning streak ... after starting the season with losses to Dayton and Purdue, BGSU has posted victories over Evansville, Detroit, Western Kentucky, Butler and Youngstown State ... three of the five wins – vs. UE, WKU and BU – came at BG's brand-new Stroh Center.
• Head coach Curt Miller, the winningest coach in program history, has a chance to move up another notch on the Mid-American Conference list in the near future ... Miller currently has 239 overall wins, ranking third in MAC history ... he is just one win behind second-place Mark Ehlen, the former Toledo head coach ... Ehlen amassed 240 total wins from 1996-2008 ... Kent State's Bob Lindsay has a firm hold on the top spot, with 413 wins during his tenure with the Golden Flashes ... the lists of the MAC's winningest coaches can be found on page 11 of the PDF version of these notes.
• Redshirt sophomore Alexis Rogers and junior Chrissy Steffen combined for 44 points on Tuesday (Dec. 6), leading BGSU to a 73-61 win at YSU ... Rogers exploded for a career-high 23 points, and also set a career standard with 11 rebounds ... the double-double was the first of her collegiate career, and was the first by any of the members of the 2011-12 Falcons.
• Steffen had 21 points vs. the Penguins, for her third 20-point game in the last four contests, and added seven rebounds, five assists and four steals ... she was three points, two rebounds, one assist and one steal away from matching her career bests.
• Steffen is averaging 20.8 points per game over the last four contests, all wins ... after going 0-of-8 from long distance in the first three games of the season, Steffen has made 11 triples over the last four games.
• At Youngstown, Rogers scored 14 of her points in the first half, equalling her previous career best by the intermission ... Steffen had 13 second-half points, and scored eight of 10 BGSU points over a two-and-a-half-minute stretch late in the game, as the Falcons increased the lead from one point to nine.
• The Falcons, led by redshirt junior Danielle Havel's career-high six steals, had a total of 12 thefts at Youngstown ... it marked the fifth time in seven games this season that BGSU has posted a double-digit steal total.
• BG had at least 12 steals in each of those five games ... last year, the Falcons had as many as 12 steals just once in 33 games.
• The Falcons are in the midst of a stretch in which the team plays four games in nine days ... the APSU and JU games conclude that stretch, and this weekend's two games also begin a span in which the Brown and Orange will play three of the next four games at the Stroh Center.
• The Youngstown State game marked the Falcons' last bus trip for 37 days ... the team will bus to the airport twice in that time, taking to the air for a game at Creighton (Dec. 18) and a trip to face Wyoming (Dec. 29) and Colorado State (Dec. 31) ... BG's next trip by bus will be to Buffalo for a Jan. 15 game vs. the Bulls.
