Danielle Tonyan Named MAC East Offensive Player Of The Week

Cleveland, Ohio – Sophomore right side hitter Danielle Tonyan has been named the Mid-American Conference's Offensive Player of the Week after being named Most Valuable Player of the Kristen Dickmann Invitational, hosted by Navy. It is the second time Tonyan has received the award in her career.
Tonyan led the team in kills in both of the squad's matches, posting 16 in a three-set sweep of Air Force, hitting .536 in the contest. She followed that up with a team-high 11 kills, adding three aces and two blocks, in a sweep of host Navy. In all, she averaged 4.50 kills per set and hit .418 on the weekend.
In the early stages of the season, Tonyan ranks among the MAC leaders in a number of statistical categories, including points, in which she ranks second with 5.50 per set. She is third in kills and tied for third in service aces, while ranking sixth in hitting percentage.
At 2-0 on the season, Bowling Green is scheduled to play four matches this weekend in Tampa at the USF Volleyball Invitational.
