Falcons Host Chippewas on Saturday in Home Opener

The Bowling Green State University gymnastics team will play host to fellow Mid-American Conference member, Central Michigan on Saturday (Jan. 14) at 6 p.m. inside Anderson Arena. Admission is free to all.
Bowling Green is coming off a third place finish at the Kentucky Classic in which they totaled a team score of 188.925, falling victim to No. 4 Oklahoma (195.875) and No. 23 Kentucky (194.325), but downing Wisconsin-Oshkosh (174.725).
Freshman Jamilah Ali and sophomore Megan Harrington finished second and third in the all-around with scores of 37.775 and 37.200. Danielle Wishart finished sixth on the floor exercise (9.750) and Dawn Christman was ninth on vault (9.775) to lead the Orange and Brown.
Central Michigan is coming off a first-place finish in a quad meet. The Chippewas scored 192.525, defeating Centenary College (187.500), Wisconsin-La Crosse (182.375) and Wisconsin-Eau Claire (178.000). CMU's Brittany Petzoid was named MAC Gymnast of the Week and Kari Dieffenderfer was named MAC Specialist of the Week following the opening weekend.
Since moving to Anderson Arena the Falcons are 5-7 inside the “House That Roars” and are 3-0 in home openers with wins over Illinois-Chicago (2011), Northern Illinois (2010) and Ball State (2009).
