Falcons And Bears Set For Midweek Matchup

The Bowling Green State University baseball team will play a midweek matchup with the Shawnee State Bears on Wednesday afternoon at 3 pm. The game will be help at Warren E. Steller Field. The Falcons will enter the game with a 7-12 record, while Shawnee State enters a Tuesday night matchup with Miami-Hamilton with a 15-15 record.
The Falcons, who are coming off a weekend in which they defeated the Colonels of Eastern Kentucky Univeristy, will head to Kalamazoo next weekend to open Mid-American Conference play after Wednesday's game with the Bears. The Falcons, after scoring just 51 runs in their first 14 games of the season, have scored 65 runs in the past five games. Last week, the Falcons scored 24 runs in a win against Malone, and 22 in a Saturday win against Eastern Kentucky.
The Bears will play a Tuesday night game against Miami-Hamilton before traveling to Bowling Green for Wednesday's matchup. Shawnee State enters that Tuesday game with a 15-15 record under head coach Ted Tom. The Bears are led by Danny Gesick, who enters the week with a .372 batting average.
