Tomic To Coach OVR High Performance Team This Year

Bowling Green, Ohio – Bowling Green State University Volleyball Coach Danijela Tomic has been invited to serve as a coach in the Ohio Valley Region's (OVR) High Performance Program for USA Volleyball this summer. The coaching responsibilities will conclude with the USA High Performance Championships in Des Moines, IA July 24-28.
Tomic will coach the OVR's Youth Team, which begins with tryouts at the Columbus Convention Center on May 5 to narrow down to 20 athletes. From there, a training camp will take place at Capital University in Columbus July 13-15 and 10 members will be selected to travel to the National Championships.
“I would like to thank Michelle Hills, the OVR Director of High Performance, for giving me the opportunity to coach some of the best young players in the Ohio Valley Region,” Tomic said. “I am looking forward to our training camps and competing at the National Championships in Iowa.”
Tomic is in her first year as head coach at BGSU. Prior to coming to Bowling Green, she piled up a career record of 158-61 in seven years at Florida International, earning three Coach of the Year awards and two trips to the NCAA Tournament.
