With just four days until first pitch, the Falcons are making final preparations to take the field on Friday afternoon in Bowling Green, Ky. Today, we are breaking down the pitching staff which will toe the rubber for the Orange and Brown this season.
The Falcons return six of their top eight pitchers from a year ago. Cody Apthorpe will return after missing most of the 2012 season with an injury to his forearm. The staff will also be aided by the returns of Mike Frank and Levi Fisher, who both return after missing the entire 2012 season.
Nick Bruns, Ben Singer, and Jason Link all return after their stellar seasons out of the bullpen last year. Bruns finished the season with seven saves, which put him in a second place tie for the single-season saves mark. Ben Singer tied the school-record for appearances in a season, with 27. Link finished the season with a 4-0 record in 21 appearances.
The Falcons also bring back the likes of Trevor Blaylock and Ethan McKenney from the 2012 staff. Trey Keegan, Rob Zenas, Devin Daugherty, and Brett Fitzwater will all bolster the rotation, as well.
