Toledo Collegiate Invitational Information
Bowling Green will hit the road this weekend to compete in split squad events. The Falcons will compete at the Raleigh Relays, hosted by North Carolina State, March 29-30 and will also send athletes to the Toledo Collegiate Invitational the same days.

LAST TIME OUT
Natalie Sommerville won the 400 hurdles and Tiera Parker won the triple jump as BGSU placed third out of 11 teams at the season-opening UC Early Bird Relays, hosted by the University of Cincinnati. Parker was competing in her first collegiate outdoor meet and jumped 36-feet-11.5 to win the event. Sommerville, a sophomore, set a new personal best with a time of 1:03.50 in the 400 hurdles. Demetra Taylor placed second in the 100 hurdles, while Allison Weimer was third in both the 100 and 200. Felicia Jefferson finished third in the 400 and Taylor Decker placed third in the discus.

PARKER MAKES A SPLASH
Freshman Tiera Parker competed in her first collegiate outdoor track and field meet two weeks ago at the UC Early Bird Relays and won the triple jump with a leap of 36-feet-11.5. Not only was it Parker's first collegiate meet, it was the first time in her career she had competed in the triple jump. She currently ranks fourth in the MAC in the event.
PICKING UP WHERE SHE LEFT OFF
Sophomore Natalie Sommerville won the 400 hurdles in the first outdoor meet of the season, the UC Early Bird Relays. Her time of 1:03.50 was a new personal best and .08 seconds ahead of where she finished a year ago at the MAC Championships.
YOUTH MOVEMENT
At the UC Early Bird Relays, 15 of Bowling Green's 19 competitors were either freshmen or sophomores. The Falcons will once again this week rely on youth this weekend as 11 out of 14 at the Raleigh Relays will be in their first two seasons.
THE NEXT CLASS
BGSU head coach Lou Snelling announced the signing of six student-athletes for the 2013-14 school year. Makenzie Wheat (Aurora, Ind./South Dearborn HS), Aliyah Gustafson (Iowa City, Iowa/City HS), Becca Schott (Montgomery, Mich./Coldwater HS), Brittney Darah (Waterville, Ohio/Anthony Wayne HS), Rachel Durbin (Memphis, Mich./Armada HS) and Jody Musser (Massillon, Ohio/Jackson HS) will all compete for the Falcons beginning in 2013-14.
ACADEMIC SUCCESS
The BGSU track and field team has been named a United States Track and Field and Cross Country Coaches Association (USTFCCCA) All-Academic Team for each of the past six years. The Falcons had a 3.24 combined grade point average to earn the award in 2012, fifth-best among MAC schools.
