Frank, Pleger Named Pizza Hut Athletes Of The Week

Each week, the Bowling Green State University Athletic Department names the Pizza Hut Athletes of the Week, as selected by the athletic communications department based on their athletic performances from the previous week. This week's winners are baseball player Mike Frank and track and field athlete Brooke Pleger
Male Athlete of the Week
Mike Frank, a redshirt junior from Maumee, Ohio, picked up his third win in MAC play by striking out a career-high eight batter in a career-high eight innings in a 5-1 win over Akron Saturday. He carried a no-hitter through 6.1 innings, giving up just two hits on the day.
Female Athlete of the Week
Brooke Pleger, a redshirt sophomore from Saline, Mich., competed at the prestigious Mt. SAC Relays over the weekend, finishing seventh against a field of Olympic hopefuls and national team representatives in the elite section of the hammer throw with a distance of 213-feet-5. Only seven collegiate athletes have thrown further than that distance this year.
