CLEVELAND, Ohio—The Mid-American Conference released the Preseason Coaches' Poll on Wednesday, as the Bowling Green State University volleyball team was picked to finish first in the MAC East. The Falcons also tied for the most votes to win the Mid-American Conference Tournament championship.

Bowling Green won an NCAA Tournament game for the first time in program history, defeating Yale in the first round, before falling to No. 1 national seed Penn State in the second round.
Bowling Green received 7-of-12 first place votes, with Ohio receiving the other five votes. In the West Division, Western Michigan received five votes, Northern Illinois received four, while Central Michigan picked up the final three.
The Falcons, along with Ohio, picked up four votes to win the MAC Tournament championship. A pair of West Division foes, Northern Illinois and Western Michigan, each received two votes.
The Falcons begin the regular season on Friday night, when they host Marquette in the Bowling Green Hampton Inn Invitational at the Stroh Center.
The 2013 Preseason All-MAC teams will be released on Thursday (Aug. 29) at 12:00 p.m. That release will also be available on BGSUFalcons.com.
