No. 19 Hockey, Women’s Basketball To Play Doubleheader Friday

Bowling Green, Ohio – The Bowling Green women's basketball team will play its season and home opener Friday night at the Stroh Center, and the BGSU men's hockey team, newly minted as the No. 19 team in the country, will follow by hosting in-state rival Ohio State at the BG Ice Arena. Women's Basketball is set to tip at 6 pm and hockey will being at 8:07 pm. Tickets for either contest begin at $13 for adults and $10 for children.
The women's basketball team will host Bucknell at 6 pm in the Stroh Center and will feature a pre-game ring ceremony, commemorating the team's Mid-American Conference regular season championship in 2013-14. BGSU went 30-5 a year ago and posted a 17-1 record in the MAC to win the outright championship. Bucknell enters the season as one of the favorites to win the Patriot League title.
Hockey, ranked nationally for the first time since 2007, is set for an 8:07 pm puck drop and the first 1,000 fans at the game will receive a goal sign clapper. As well, community members are encouraged to sign a "Not In Our Town" banner that evening to show support for the grassroots effort to ensure a welcome and supportive community for all citizens in Bowling Green. As well, BGSU's Student-Athlete Advisory Committee will be taking canned goods donations prior to the hockey game for the annual Falcons Fighting Hunger campaign. Any fan who brings a canned good will receive a coupon for $4 off the general admission ticket price as well as a free popcorn or 12 oz. soda at the game.
