Falcons To Play Nationally On ESPN3 Saturday

DeKalb, Ill. – The Bowling Green State University volleyball team will be featured nationally Saturday as the Falcons play at Northern Illinois at 8 pm. The match will be broadcast on ESPN3 at espn3.com as part of the Mid-American Conference's contract with ESPN.

Bowling Green enters the weekend in a three-way tie for the eighth and final spot to the MAC Tournament. The Falcons are coming off of a 2-0 weekend in which the team swept Akron and defeated Buffalo in five sets. Both wins avenged losses to those teams earlier in the year. Freshman outside hitter Nicole Slimko was named the MAC East Division Offensive Player of the Week and sophomore libero Madeline Garda was named the MAC East Division Defensive Player of the Week for their efforts.

Northern Illinois enters the weekend at 11-1 in conference play, the second-best mark in the conference. The Huskies are looking to lock up one of the top two seeds headed into the MAC Tournament, which carries byes through the first two rounds of the event.
