Bartell Earns Top-Five Finish, Falcons Finish Tied for Sixth at Colonel Classic

and Shelby Wilson each carded a second round 81, +9, on Saturday, as the duo combined for three birdies and 14 pars over the final round of play. Holt, who was the top-Falcon after Friday's round one of play, recorded rounds of 80 and 81 to finish in a tie for 28th overall with a combined score of 161, +17. Wilson improved her second round of play by two strokes, as her scores of 83 and 81 put her in a tie for 43rd overall with a two-round combined score of 164, +20.

Following Holt and Wilson for the Falcons was senior Bailey Arnold and sophomore Hannah Lewis. Arnold, who posted seven pars on day two, carded a second round 84, +12, to finish the two-day event in a tie for 52nd-place overall with rounds of 82 and 84 for a combined score of 166, +22, while Lewis bounced back from a first round 88 to shoot a second round 81 and finish tied for 55th with her 36-hole score of 169, +25.

As individuals, freshman Mikayla Baer struggled on day two, as she posted a second round 90, +18, while senior Kelsey Benson recorded her second straight round of 85, +13. Coupled with her first round 79, +7, Baer registered a two-round combined of 169, +25, to finish tied for 55th, while Benson's two 85's put her in a tie for 57th with a combined score of 170, +26.

The Colonels, who posted a first round team low score of 313 on Friday, posted a low round team score of 303 on Saturday to post a combined team score of 616, +40, to take first-place overall.

Morehead State (622, +46) and Xavier (628, +52) finished second and third overall on the team leaderboard, while Marshall (634, +58) and Ohio (638, +62) rounded out the top-five.

EKU's Sofie Levin earned medalist honors, as she posted rounds of 77 and 75 to finish with a tournament low two-round score of 152, +8.

Bowling Green will host the Dolores Black Falcon Invitational at the Stone Ridge Golf Club in Bowling Green, Ohio on April 12-13th.
