Bowling Green, Ohio – The Bowling Green Athletics Ticket Office has announced that single-match tickets for the 2014 BGSU Volleyball season will go on sale Wednesday.
Ticket prices are just $6 for individual matches or $2 per ticket for groups of 20 or more. Season tickets are already on sale for only $48 for general admission seating or $75 for courtside seats (for season ticket information, CLICK HERE).
"As we take our volleyball program to the next level competitively, we are also committed to taking our attendance numbers to the next level," BGSU Volleyball Coach Danijela Tomic said. "Our goal is to average 1,500 or more, which would put us in the top 25 in attendance in the country. Our team and staff are working hard every day to build a program that will be one of the top 25 teams in the country and we need help from our Falcon fans."
Throughout the year, there are numerous promotions for fans to take part in. The team's Mid-American Conference home opener against Miami on Oct. 2 will be "Dollar Day" featuring discounted tickets, food and beverages. The team's annual "Dig For The Cure" match will take place Oct. 11 against Ohio. BGSU's I-75 Rivalry match against Toledo on Oct. 24 is designated as "Overflow The Stroh" and "Youth Volleyball Night".
The Falcons will host Akron on Halloween night (Oct. 31) and all children 13 and under who come to the match in costume will get free admission. There will be trick-or-treat candy stations throughout the Stroh Center that evening as well. "Camper Reunion Day" will take place twice during the season for those who participated in BGSU Volleyball Camps. The discounted rate tickets are available for the squad's match against Pittsburgh on Aug. 30 and the Oct. 10 match against Kent State.
"We feed off of the energy that our student section, led by the Falcon Fanatics and other loyal fans, creates in the Stroh Center," Tomic said. "The atmosphere was electric last year when we hosted Northern Illinois for 'Overflow The Stroh' and we hope our fans will create that same feeling again this year, not only when we play against Toledo but also our other opponents."
The 2014 Falcon volleyball team will look to create its own legacy with a roster made up of 11 freshmen and sophomores among the 13 players. Jelena Sunjic, a MAC All-Freshman team outside hitter a year ago, returns to bolster the lineup along with two leading seniors in Erica Fullenkamp and middle Kelsey Bates.
