QUICK LOOK AT CHICAGO STATEÂ Â Â Â Â Â Â Â Â Â Â Â Â Â Â Â Â Â Â Â Â Â Â Â Â Â Â Â Â Â Â Â Â Â Â Â Â Â Â Â Â Â Â Â Â Â Â Â Â Â Â Â Â Â Â Â Â Â Â Â Â Â Â Â Â Â Â Â Â Â Â Â Â Â Â Â Â Â Â Â Â Â Â Â Â Â Â Â Â Â Â Â Â Â Â Â Â Â Â Â Â

FALCON FIRSTS FOR FRESHMENÂ Â Â Â Â Â Â Â Â Â Â Â Â Â Â Â Â Â Â Â Â Â Â Â Â Â Â Â Â Â Â Â Â Â Â Â Â Â Â Â Â Â Â Â Â Â Â Â Â Â Â Â Â Â Â Â Â Â Â Â Â Â Â Â Â Â Â Â Â Â Â Â Â Â Â Â Â Â Â Â Â Â Â Â Â Â Â Â Â Â Â Â Â Â Â Â Â Â Â Â Â Â Â Â Â Â Â Â Â
A tandem of Falcon freshmen have posted career firsts thus far this season in Madison Schupbach and Skylar Fleak. In the season opener on Aug. 22, Schupbach scored her first career goal as a Falcon in the 15th minute. On the very same scoring play, BGSU freshman Skylar Fleak registered her first career assists as a Falcon.
CADEL RANKED NO. 16 OVERALL IN THE MAC BY TOPDRAWERSOCCERÂ Â Â Â Â Â Â Â Â Â Â Â Â Â Â Â Â Â Â Â Â Â Â Â Â Â Â Â Â Â Â Â Â Â Â Â Â Â Â Â Â Â Â Â Â Â Â Â Â Â Â Â Â Â Â Â Â Â Â Â Â Â Â Â Â Â Â Â Â Â Â Â Â Â Â Â Â Â Â Â Â Â Â Â Â Â Â Â Â Â Â Â Â Â Â Â Â Â Â Â Â Â Â Â Â Â Â Â Â Â Â Â Â Â Â Â Â Â
As part of the preseason player rankings, TopDrawerSoccer.com released its top-20 women's soccer players in each conference across the country this weekend and Bowling Green State University's Lauren Cadel came in at No. 16 overall in the Mid-American Conference. Cadel, a redshirt-sophomore goalkeeper from Newmarket, Ontario, Canada, led the MAC and was ranked among the national leaders in several categories, including total saves and saves per game last season in goal for the Falcons. Last year in 2013, Cadel finished seventh in the nation in saves per game (7.79) and was 26th in the country in total stops (109). She also had double-digit save totals in six matches, the most by a BGSU 'keeper in a single season in school history, while her saves percentage of .796 was the sixth-best single-season percentage in school history. Over the Falcons' first two matches this season in 2014, Cadel has totaled 10 saves and a saves percentage of .714 on the year over 180 minutes of play between the posts for BGSU.
PICKED SIXTH IN THE EAST IN THE 2014 MAC PRESEASON POLLÂ Â Â Â Â Â Â Â Â Â Â Â Â Â Â Â Â Â Â Â Â Â Â Â Â Â Â Â Â Â Â Â Â Â Â Â Â Â Â Â Â Â Â Â Â Â Â Â Â Â Â Â Â Â Â Â Â Â Â Â Â Â Â Â Â Â Â Â Â Â Â Â Â Â Â Â Â Â Â Â Â Â Â Â Â Â Â Â Â Â Â Â Â Â Â Â Â Â Â Â Â Â Â Â Â Â Â Â Â Â Â Â Â Â Â Â Â Â Â Â Â Â Â Â Â
Bowling Green was picked to finish sixth in the East Division in the 2014 MAC Women's Soccer Preseason Poll.
2014 EXHIBITION PLAYÂ Â Â Â Â Â Â Â Â Â Â Â Â Â Â Â Â Â Â Â Â Â Â Â Â Â Â Â Â Â Â Â Â Â Â Â Â Â Â Â Â Â Â Â Â Â Â Â Â Â Â Â Â Â Â Â Â Â Â Â Â Â Â Â Â Â Â Â Â Â Â Â Â Â Â Â Â Â Â Â Â Â Â Â Â Â Â Â Â Â Â Â Â Â Â Â Â Â Â Â Â Â Â Â Â Â Â Â Â Â Â Â Â Â Â Â Â Â Â Â Â Â Â Â Â Â Â Â Â Â Â Â Â Â Â
The 2014 exhibition season saw the Falcons play to draws against UIC and Wright State at Cochrane Stadium. BGSU played the Flames of UIC to a 2-2 draw on Aug. 12, getting goals from Skylar Fleak and Kara Ross. The Falcons then got a late goal from newcomer Mikaela Couch to finished in a 1-1 tie with Wright State on Aug. 15. The three preseason goals were all scored by newcomers.
BIGGEST UNKNOWN: SCORINGÂ Â Â Â Â Â Â Â Â Â Â Â Â Â Â Â Â Â Â Â Â Â Â Â Â Â Â Â Â Â Â Â Â Â Â Â Â Â Â Â Â Â Â Â Â Â Â Â Â Â Â Â Â Â Â Â Â Â Â Â Â Â Â Â Â Â Â Â Â Â Â Â Â Â Â Â Â Â Â Â Â Â Â Â Â Â Â Â Â Â Â Â Â Â Â Â Â Â Â Â Â Â Â Â Â Â Â Â Â Â Â Â Â Â Â Â Â Â Â Â Â Â Â Â Â Â Â Â Â
Perhaps the biggest question for the Falcons in 2014 will be where will the scoring come from, as the Falcons return only one goal from last season. In fact, BGSU has only two players on the entire roster in Sidney Huth (5 goals) and Ashley Garr (1 goal) that have notched a goal in their BGSU careers. The Falcons have totaled only nine goals as a team in each of the last two years.

Amodio posted six shots from her defensive position on the year, putting three on frame for a shots on goal percentage of .500 for the year.
