Falcons on the Road for the Battle of I-75
The Falcons are coming off of their first win against a MAC opponent as they travel to Toledo this weekend. The 157.5-142.5 victory against Ohio was the first under Coach Matt Ense. Momentum was not something that was a short coming for the Falcons as they opened up the meet winning five of the first six events. Leading the Falcons through this push were senior Daniela Carrillo, junior Victoria Griffin, and sophomore Franziska Wohlert. This strong showing for the Falcons was the start of, what they hope is going to be a successful year.

They Said It
"It's important to see another conference opponent," Matt Ense stated. "We are going on the road so this will be the first time we are traveling. Toledo is a big rival of ours, and our all-time record against them isn't very good. So that will give us some extra motivation going into the meet."
Â
Carrillo Continues to Dominate
Mexico native Daniela Carrillo has started her senior season off as everyone expected. Up to this point in her career Carrillo has seemed to be nothing short of dominant and doesn't show signs of slowing down. Carrillo was one of three Falcons who was victorious in two events against the Bobcats. She finished in first place in both the 100 and 200 meter breaststroke, both of which she holds the school record for. Carrillo also swam on the 200 IM relay team which turned in a first place finish for the Orange and Brown.

Griffin Grabs Two
Falcon junior Victoria Griffin was another Bowling Green swimmer who scored two victories against the Bobcats of Ohio University. Griffin, a two time, first team All-MAC swimmer picked up her victories in the 100 and 200 meter freestyle events. Griffin is entering her third year swimming for the Falcons as she looks to continue her success. Against Ohio last weekend, Griffin took second in the 50 free while also helping the Falcons 400 free relay team to a second place finish.
Â
Wohlert Wows In Opener
The final Falcon that solidified two victories in the meet against Ohio was sophomore Franziska Wohlert. Wohlert is one of six foreign swimmers on this Falcon team. She helped the Falcons in their meet with Ohio as she won both the 200 backstroke and 200 Individual Medley. The meet was a strong one for the native of Germany and with only one year under her belt helped prove that she can help lead this Falcon team. Wohlert also had a strong race in the 100 back, finishing second, while swimming on the second-place 400 free relay team for the Orange and Brown also.
Â
Bullock, Skorupski Win, Too
Both Jordan Bullock and Maya Skorupski helped the Falcons to victory in the dual meet, turning in early wins during Saturday's meet. Bullock was victorious in the 200 fly, while Skorupski took first in the 100 back.
