Bowling Green, Ohio – The Bowling Green State University volleyball program and head coach Danijela Tomic are excited to announce that the Falcons will be hosting not one, but two Lil' Falcons and Junior Falcons Winter Clinics for girls and boys ages from 7-12 years old at the start of the 2016 calendar year in January and February.
The two 2016 winter clinics will serve as a fundraiser for the BGSU volleyball team's European trip coming in May 2016.
Children ages from 7-12 can learn the fundamentals of volleyball – such as serving, digging, setting and attacking – while playing on lower nets to have fun working on their skills in true matches.
"Our players and staff love to teach the game of volleyball and work with students of all ages," commented Coach Tomic. "This is a great way to give back to our community that gives our student-athletes, our team and our University so much throughout the year!"
The first session of the Lil' Falcons and Junior Falcons 2016 Winter Clinics will take place on Jan. 18, Jan. 25, Feb. 1 and Feb. 8 at the Stroh Center. The Lil' Falcons (ages 7-9) will be on the court from 7-8 p.m. on all four of those nights, while Junior Falcons (ages 10-12) will run from 8-9 p.m.
The second session of the Winter Clinics will take place on Feb. 15, Feb. 22, Feb. 29 and Mar. 14. Again, the times will be the same with the Lil' Falcons going from  7-8 p.m. on all four of those nights, followed by the Junior Falcons from 8-9 p.m.
The clinics will be held in the Schmidthorst Pavilion at the Stroh Center.
The cost for each session is only $50 per child. For those Lil' and Junior Falcons that want to attend both sessions the cost is just $80 per child.
Lil' Falcons (girls & boys, ages 7-9)
Lil' Falcons program is designed to begin an athletic adventure for any young player. Regardless of size, shape or level of athleticism of the child, this program is designed to work big muscles and begin the eye-hand coordination efforts required to enjoy athletics. The training will put an emphasis on motor development through various volleyball skills, and small group games.
Junior Falcons (girls & boys, ages 10-12)
This is a great program for girls and boys who want to learn volleyball with fun and enjoyment being the focal points. These volleyball sessions will incorporate team play with motor learning and skill development.
